We ended up u sing this Step2 518399 Just Chillin' Patio Table & Ice Ice Bin all weekend long during this past Fourth of July weekend. First of all, it holds quite a few soft drinks in the ice. It keeps them quite chilled, too. The ice stayed fresh and cold, and we didn't have a lot of melting during the period (several hours) that we held our cookout. This is a very sturdy ice bin--it's a large plastic bin. It's stable, and not easy to turn over or kick around. We hauled it to every event we had this past weekend, outdoors AND indoors. We used it as an impromptu table, and used it for a cooler. One of my kids requested that we put it in his room, so he "would never have to use a refrigerator again" (we denied his request).I like the fact that it's thick plastic, and is very sturdy. The thick plastic also keeps the container insulated quite well. The only problem--and it can be fairly annoying--is that while using this as a table, you have to remove everything from the top when you need to remove a drink from the cooler. I can't help but think that this fact is fairly self-explanatory, but I do have to mention it. Otherwise, this was a bit hit.
