We needed a cover for our wooden outdoor dining set. With so many options here on Amazon, I did quite a bit of homework. My requirements were straight forward:1) Waterproof - must prevent water from seeping through and damaging the wooden furniture2) Fit - our dining set is rectangular, though I can arrange the set to be more of a square shape3) Value - there are some very expensive options on Amazon; being price sensitive, I didn't need a high-end one but also didn't want to buy a cheap one only to have it last a seasonReading through the description and reviews, this cover met #1 and #3 above and I figured I will able to make it work with #2 with some MacGyver'ing. While we've only had it for 1 1/2 months, it has been through snow, sleet, ice, and rain. So while I can't speak to longevity and how it holds up over time, I am able to share some preliminary thoughts and opinions.Pros:I had some concerns around whether this cover is waterproof due to mixed messaging in the description, where they use the words "waterproof" as well as "water resistant." There is a significant difference between these two phrases. So far, this cover appears to be waterproof. At times, we have encountered some significant water pooling (see below for more about this), once even sitting for 3 days. We even had water pool on the cover before completely freeze over for nearly a week. So far, we have not had any water seep through. This cover is also made of some some heavy duty material and comes with a number of straps and buckles to secure it to your set. These straps come in handy and are a good concept, but I think there's room for improvement (see below). It is also very easy to put on and remove.Cons:As with any cover set, our dining set will cause water pooling without any MacGyver'ing. Even after using some tricks from other users, we still haven't been able to completely prevent water pooling. My concern with pooling of water is that it will eventually seep through as the waterproofing breaks down from UV exposure. While the buckles are great at securing the cover to our dining set, they are only placed at each corner. Having buckles on each of the four sides would allow you to create a snug fit to prevent any sagging on the top that allows water to pool. We even took one of the suggestions by another reviewer and put a stick in our table's umbrella hole to elevate the middle of the cover. However, water then pools closer to the edges of the cover.Overall, this cover is doing its job so far. We plan to only use this in the winter months as we use our dining set frequently in warmer weather. We're going to keep an eye on how this holds up over time, but we currently would recommend this to anyone looking for a sturdy dining set cover. The material and straps are great quality. The venting and synch straps are much better than I thought would be provided.Only knock is the color fade, but it does not look terrible in the light brown. That is not that important to us. If that is important to you, you could rotate it so it fades more evenly, or you would need to look elsewhere.Purchased large table and chairs, large sofa and two swivel chair covers from this company. Heavy duty, breeze to out on and off. Fold/roll for best storage, they are quite thick if you don’t do this. Ties downs too if needed for windy/harsh weather. Have purchased before for home in Vermont and they were great to keep everything covered in the winter, Florida rains are no match for these either!Note: if covering cushions too in the winter months, don’t, in essence all you’re doing is going to create a nice comfortable habitat for mice to make their nests from your cushions. Take cushions indoors for long periods of time such as the winter months.Highly recommend these covers.I recognize that not everyone lives in my weather conditions. I am by the ocean and constantly exposed to salt spray, the summer sun is scorching, and the winters are cold. If that’s not bad enough, the wind has gotten ferocious over these past few years. That said, it’s probably safe to say everyone is experiencing bizarre weather lately, so this could in fact apply to anyone in the US right now. I am now on my third furniture cover, all different makes but all good brands and good quality. The point of failure is always the same: the canvas surface gets weathered and brittle, and ultimately cracks the vinyl waterproof layer underneath in small 2-5 inch sections. This particular cover also cracked at the corners. I got this cover 1.5 years ago. I can get more mileage out of it by sealing the cracks from the underside using duck tape or Gorilla waterproof tape (this works well). Eventually it will become a tapestry of tape patches and I will recycle it and buy another. I have never had a cover last longer than 3 years. This cover had another problem that I didn’t anticipate, which was condensation building up on the underside so that the furniture actually got wet when covered. I’m not sure why it was so bad with this cover in particular. It is not waterproof, note “water resistant” in the description. If water sits on the surface for any period of time, it will eventually work its way at through the fabric. I found it helpful to arrange the furniture in such a way underneath that it created a downward channel in the cover so water would run off easier. Water pooling on the cover will eventually age and crack it too.If you come to terms with the fact that you’ll have to replace this every three years, it’s a good cover for the money.Very sturdy with secure buckles; it's never blown away or ripped at the buckles. It did rip down the middle after a storm after 1-1/2 yrs. But a new covered arrived in less than a week! Great customer service and quality. We have full sun, high winds and snowy winters. This lasted longer than other covers.Definitely better quality than every other furniture cover we have tried over the years. Unfortunately, though, with the strong winds, the cover lasted only about 9 months before it started to tear. Over the months to follow, then, the tears grew larger and eventually led to portions being in shreds. Gorilla tape helped for a little while, but even the tape adhesive succumbs to the heat of the summer and just leads to a sticky mess. Upon contacting the seller, they merely asked for a picture of the torn product, and a replacement arrived on our porch within 48 hours. The product comes with a 3 year warranty; however, the catch is that the product can only be replaced once.Dimensions of cover are 56" x 56" at top square of cover as stated, but dimensions at bottom edge of cover are 52" x 52" therefore it will not pull down over a 54" x 54" table. Also the 4 elastics do not have a loop within the toggle as shown in the Amazon pictures, so they cannot be let out at all - all 4 elastics on the cover purchased are cut through, making extension impossible. Looks like a good quality fabric, but for us an expensive waste of money, with no returns allowed through Amazon. Even if your table dimensions are measured correctly, this will not fit - purchase at your peril.Good quality, don't see this tearing anytime soon. It is a little heavy though but that's ok just shows a good quality.Update after a month use, changed it from 5 to 3 star because it's definitely not waterproof as stated, I feel kind of ripped off honestly and will see if I can return it. My cushions was wet underneath after a heavy weekend rain.Another update, seller with excellent customer service have refunded me partly and will send another one out ASAP as the one I received was defective. Hopefully the next one is actually 100% waterproof and what I received was really defective. So right now I'll keep it at a 5 starHave had this product for one year and it is no longer water resistant. Every time it rains, the underside of the cover is soaked, as is our patio set. For a product that prices in the higher range, the quality is terrible, and worse, the company will not respond to my request for a refund or replacement. And this is despite a 3-year warranty and claim of the cover being waterproof and breathable.I use this for my outdoor patio funishings. Fits large for my furniture and after reading some issues from other customers about weathering, I made sure my cover was securely tied down and that I stacked all the seat cushions in the middle of the table before hand so no pocket or sunken area would be formed for water or snow to accumulate. We had a fair share of snow this year, colder weather and it did well to survive the elements. So far so good.Love the straps it has built into it. This is a really well made product. It fit our table PERFECTLY - covering both the table and the chairs. I ended up stacking a bunch of things on top of the table to create a "tent-like" shape so that the water and snow will roll off and not collect on top of the table... since my chairs are higher than the table, and since this is waterproof, the water ends up collecting on top of the table (kind of like a bowl effect)... so I stacked stuff under the cover to prop it up, and it seems to have worked - not perfect, but way better for sure. The straps are well made and I think they'll last a long time. The pull strings make it easy to tighten around the base. I wish it was another 6 inches long so it would go right to the floor and protect the legs of my chairs, but that might be too inviting for wildlife to make a home over the winter (which I do not want). All in all - I do recommend this product as it feels like high quality, looks really nice, and does the job. I just hope I get 2-3 years out of it...
